What is BATA?
BATA, or the Boston Area Theatre Auditions, are an annual Non-Equity general call for the New England area. Between 25-50 producers gather together to watch 250+ live auditions over the course of two days. Auditioners will have 2 minutes and may use that time to do a monologue, song, or both.

The Boston Theatre Resource Round-Up is a curated directory of resources for Boston-area theatre makers. This includes workshops, online submissions, classes, coaching sessions, websites, instagram accounts, databases - really anything that will help support the larger Boston theatre community!

SELF TAPE WORKSHOP WITH MELISSA PARADICE

What: Self Tape Workshop - Join Casting Director Melissa Paradice of Asylum Casting for a workshop on how to improve your self tape game. Over zoom, we will talk about best practices and technical details, answer questions and review self tape auditions that you submit for this workshop (you will receive a self tape request a week before to upload your submission). We will analyze what worked, what didn’t and what changes could be implemented to make the NEXT take even better. For over 20 years Melissa Paradice has been casting talent in commercials, industrials, film and tv projects, voiceovers, print and live events.

AUDITION WORKSHOP WITH LYNDSAY ALLYN COX

What: Audition Season Is Here! Let’s Make Sure You’re Ready. BATA and EPA auditions can feel overwhelming. The pressure. The prep. The waiting. The questions about whether you’re choosing the right material or walking into the room the right way. You do not have to navigate it alone. Join casting director, actor, and producer Lyndsay Allyn Cox for an experiential audition workshop designed to help you step into audition season with clarity and confidence. In this supportive, actor-centered session, you will:

Work one-on-one with Lyndsay on your audition material
Receive actionable, specific feedback
Practice in front of peers in a grounded, encouraging environment
Ask candid questions about the industry and how to navigate audition season strategically
You will leave with practical tools to prepare for any audition, a stronger connection to authentic storytelling, and a clear plan for how to walk into every room rooted, ready, and fully yourself.

The Boston Area Theatre Auditions are an annual opportunity for Boston area Non-Equity actors to be seen by multiple theatre organizations and producers as they plan for productions over the 2026-27 season.
