What is BATA? 

BATA is a collective of Boston-based actors, producers, directors, and arts administrators dedicated to fostering a thriving and radically inclusive theatre community in the Greater Boston Area. Through annual auditions and year-round programming, we provide vital opportunities for connection, professional development, and artistic growth.

What does this look like? 

1. The Boston Area Theatre Auditions (BATA) are an annual non-equity general audition, typically in April. This event is attended by 40+ Boston area theatre and film casting directors and is an incredible opportunity to meet members of the larger Boston theatre scene. 
   
   

2. The Resource Round Up - Every week, we add events, workshops, comp offers, resources and more to our resource page. We highlight these on our instagram! The idea behind this is to uplift anything that can help out Boston theatre artists, from actors to designs to admins.
   
   

3. We host BATA community nights in collaboration with Boston area theatres! Last year, we had two successful nights with The Huntington and Boston Playwrights' Theatre. This year, we have a few in the works, including an upcoming night at ASP's production of Macbeth!
